I should be quilting

Yep, I should be quilting. Then I realized it had been a very long time since I have had a chance to update you all on what we have been doing. As we all know summer is a busy time and we find it even more so in a place where there really is a winter. In our former location we could do stuff all year long, well not here, especially when it is so cold that you hands start hurting withing 5 minutes of being outside.

So to catch up. The first part of July Samantha, Andy, Bryce and Tristan came for a visit. I didn't realize how much I miss my daughter, it was so good to spend time with her. Kirk, Andy and Bryce went fishing, they had a great time and brought home fish, we had a BQ that evening and Tommy, Tesa and Tommy's brother joined us and we all had a great time. The next day the guys went and did some more fishing, Bryce loves to fish and keeps up with the men, with no complaints. We all enjoyed fireworks, well except Lady she ran away several times because she gets so scared, we just have to make sure we put her in the house on such occassions. The boys helped Papa build a fire pit so we could have a bonefire and roast marshmellows for smores. It also rained a bit each day, one night even putting our fire out, so we moved indoors and put on some music and the boys dance wildly around the house, it was a blast.

Next we made a return trip to Ca., Kirks Dad had a big cabinet job he wanted help with so we took the opportunity to see our families again. Kirks grandma turned 100 in July, they had a big birthday party for her, unfortunately we could not stay long enough to enjoy it with everyone.

We are going to be grandparents again. Michele and Josh are going to have another baby in March. I see another baby quilt in my future.

We have been busy working, still working on Shiela's kitchen...these things take time, especially when your waiting on someone else to do their part. I only go with Kirk now if he needs my help and I appriciate that, I have things to do around here that can't be done if I am gone. We just picked up two more jobs today, here in town which will be nice not to have to travel so far. One is an old house that is being moved to a new location and Kirk will be helping with the needed repairs once it is sat in place, the other is helping with general home care for one of our recently widowed neighbors.



Last Sunday, Kirk and I went up into the mountains to begin gathering firewood for the winter, yep it is time to do that, winter will be here before we know it. The weather is finially cooling and am I ready, it has be so hot.

I will put another quilt on the long arm tomorrow, this is a clients quilt. Next I need to get the other two American Hero quilts on and done so I can get them returned so they can go to one of our wounded soldiers.

I suppose I have bored you long enough. I will try and do better about posting (where have you heard this before). I hope to get some pictures of the improvements we have made taken shortly and since I have this great camera that Letha gave me I will be able to post them, now just to get the area, photo ready.
