Welcome to our Wyoming blog. On this blog I have been sharing how we came to move here and the 'adventure' we have been on every since. We started with a hillside, and today (6 years later) are finally putting in some landscaping. We are by no means done. I hope you will come along on our adventure.

I also have 2 other blogs. Big Horn Mountain Creations show cases my quilting and other artistic adventures. Decorating my Tin Shack, is about creating a home thru decorating. Both are on the side bar, I hope you will stop by.

Window Update

Sometimes it is better update an existing item then to buy new. Here I recovered a shade. It used to be a plain cream color. Now it sports beautiful fabrics in greens (of course) with a tree and leaf print. The back is still the original fabric, I just recovered the front.

Sure makes a difference.

New Look

I decided it was time for a new look. I love green so this works for me.

3 day of SNOW!!!!

It has been snowing for 3 days now. Though be it very light to light. Everyone is getting cabin fever.

We had a break in the weather (as seen below) for about 2 hours yesterday. Everything is so pretty and the blue sky so welcoming. I love the blue of the sky, or of water or jeans...but that is about it for most blue.........well except sapphire in jewelry or glass of any kind (no blue walls for me, tried that once....nope).....now I digress.

Here is what cabin fever looks like for the dog and cat. Now mind you these two have lived in this family for 7 years together, but until about a month ago they hardly had the time of day for each other. Now they have taken to sleeping together (really a wise idea in 0 degree weather). LOL. The cat (Me Moew) is not allowed outside right now, there have been mountain lion tracks about town again. He was jumping up to the window in the door this morning, I think we will have to keep a close eye on him, he really wants out to go do what ever it is he does (and usually comes home with an injury of some kind).

I finally got my Christmas tree down. When you cut um fresh they last a long time, this one still is not losing needles, but the time has come. So I put him out in the yard so we can still enjoy him and now with a bit of snow. This is the only tree we have in our yard.....ya, pretty sad, but hopefully this spring we will get to put a few in...all depends on the water situation.

A few pictures of the "garden" with its winter coat on.

The tire..........awaiting a spring planting of lettuce.

And another look at the beautiful blue sky during our brief break yesterday and the lovely sunshine. As of this writing it is still snowing, this is a really slow moving storm, usually it blows in and back out within a few hours if not minutes. Well that is it for now, God's Blessing to you.

Chinking & the Window

We have started the chinking for the living/dining/kitchen/office area of the house. Another day and perhaps we will have that done. What a difference it makes to get the gaps filled in between the boards. When we first put the boards up they were suppose to be 'dry'. Of course they weren't and boy did they shrink, we knew they would. So now that it is really DRY, we have filled in the gaps with chinking, like they use between logs on log homes. It has cut down on the dust in the bedroom so I am hoping for more of the same in the main part of our 800 sq feet. Plus no more hiding places for spiders and such. Grin.

Kirk also put a window into the front door, what a difference that has made to the light of the room during the day. Part of homesteading is finding things to reuse/recycle. This window came from the door of a house in town (they were installing stained glass) and found a perfect home in our door.

If you notice behind the wood stove, we still have the rock work to do, one of these days. Frankly, I still have alot of flat rocks to collect for that project, hummm.

Happy New Year to all.
