Welcome to our Wyoming blog. On this blog I have been sharing how we came to move here and the 'adventure' we have been on every since. We started with a hillside, and today (6 years later) are finally putting in some landscaping. We are by no means done. I hope you will come along on our adventure.

I also have 2 other blogs. Big Horn Mountain Creations show cases my quilting and other artistic adventures. Decorating my Tin Shack, is about creating a home thru decorating. Both are on the side bar, I hope you will stop by.

Wyoming Parade & Straw bales

We had a Wyoming Parade.........also known as a traffic jam, today. LOL. This is the view of our road today as a herd of cattle was being moved to new fields, now mind you this road runs right through the heart of our town. Kirk said he was sitting on the porch of the Paint Rock Inn (where we go to eat) as the cows came through town. In this picture the cows are coming from town. This is about mid way in the herd, see picture 3 for the front of the herd.

Just a close up as they passed by, aren't the calves darling?

The other end of the herd headed out into the desert to feed on the beautiful spring grass.

I have begun work on the garden area up on the top pad. Beginning to edge with rocks, which also clears the planting areas.

We got our potato bales (straw) for this year, last year we had 4 so I doubled it this time. The first two set of bales are planted, need to get some more seed potato at the grocery store. Yep, they carry seed potatoes and onion sets at the grocery store here, probably not anything new to most, but they didn't do this where we used to live so I was pleasantly pleased.

I do have to tell you that Rocky was alot of help planting the potatoes. First he decided to eat one of the seed potatoes (I rescued it) and then.....................HE DRANK MY ICE TEA!!! I think I miss named him.....he should have been named BAD DOG II.

Hi Gail!
Pauline/NH from QOR here.
I haven't been posting much as I am in almost the same boat as you, construction, sewing & quilting, back to work at school, just not enough hours in the day.
I have been working all summer on getting my garden ready for planting and I am very curious about the potato bales! Just what are they? I can venture a guess but before I make myself look like an idiot when I ask for them in town I thought I would ask you, lol.I am a transplanted city girl who always had a dream of owning a log home and the country life......so far-sooooo good!
I love reading about your adventures....you and Kirk keep motivating me! Keep up the good work! Pauline/NH
